This is one of the major projects done during my advanced art class from January until late April 2006. Two fellow students of mine contributed equally to the work , otherwise we couldn't have made it in that short time -- actual working time is roughly 30 hours.
For Salvador Dalí it is the "paroxysm of joy" , "anarchic monarchy" , "harmony of the universe" , and reveals the "harmony in which sirens find themselves immersed."
It was our attempt to empathise this genius by trying to catch his picture of "Galatée aux spheres" in a benchmark of 1:3.7 on one of our school walls.

I was responsible for most of the detail work on the hair as well as most spheres on the right hand side of the picture. Unfortunately we had to cut down on some of the detail and also had to simplify some parts in order to stay on schedule. In addition , the corridor is quite badly lit so I had to brighten up the photo quite a lot , so the colours are a little warped.

We are aware that this is in no way a real reproduction of the masterpiece and I am quite disappointed myself that it does not hold a direct comparison to the original in some matters , but well , it is our own work and I think it works well on its own , too. ^^
